To make a full distance cast using an Emmrod Fishing Rod, you will not use a normal casting motion. To achieve a full distance cast, use a ¾ cast with a normal casting speed.

When you cast your Emmrod you will not do a full follow through cast as when using a 6 or 7 foot fishing rod. The coils on the stainless steel rod are there for sensitivity, rod action and they help you get the full cast you want.

It has been referred to being similar to a whipping action when casting an Emmrod. When using this motion you are allowing the coils to respond and achieve the long distance you have been accustomed to.

Whether casting overhead, or a side cast, using the ¾ casting technique you will soon find yourself casting as far and as accurate as with any long rod you have ever used.

How to string your new fishing pole.

There is really no wrong way to string your fishing pole. You can run your line from the reel through the coils and then through the eyelet or simply take your line straight from the reel and just go through the eyelet. If makes no difference, only what works best for you. If you are using the new 7-coil universal tip you will need to run the line through the coils and then the eyelet if using the tip in the casting rod mode.
